Adventures in Acadia National Park

My bestie and I took the ultimate roadtrip together last summer to Acadia National Park. It still to this day is one of my favorite trips we’ve been on!

Here’s the itinerary:

Drive up Route 1 (we were coming from outside of Boston)

  • NH Liquor Outlet (for obvious reasons)

  • Moody’s Diner in Waldoboro

  • Coffee in Ellsworth at The Riverside Cafe (the Rock + Art Shop next door is adorable too)

  • Arrived in Bar Harbor around 4:00 pm

We squeezed in a small hike to stretch our legs from driving. Starting at Sand Beach we followed the Great Head Trail (short option). This was 1.5 miles and took us exactly an hour. I’ll include both of our hiking routes at the bottom.

After getting into our hotel room at the Holiday Inn, we headed out into downtown Bar Harbor.

Day 2

  • Started our day with a hike in Acadia doing the South Bubble trail. This took us about the same amount of time as yesterday being 1.3 miles and roughly one hour.

  • Our last stop was at Quoddy Head State Park right before the Canadian boarder. This lighthouse is the furthest point east of the US!

Acadia National Park is the perfect weekend roadtrip that we will be doing every year from now on!
